Going's on July to November

It has been an eventful time, and one that has been almost well documented with images. Lots of family outings and scouting events, and of course school. As we finish up Thanksgiving and head to Christmastime, it is a good time to catch up. Also, I'm trying something new and putting links to Google Maps with each set of pictures in case anyone cares where we were.

We will start with a picture of two pirates. The one on the left is Andrew, and on the right is his Pre-K teacher Mr. Haranck. They are visited by a different letter each week, and for Mr. P they all dressed up as pirates. Andrew is pretty scary.
Just a random Andrew picture where he wasn't making a weird face or didn't have his eyes closed.
Near the end of the summer we decided to head up to the mountains and get out of the heat. We rented a cabin outside Prescott. Of course I didn't take any pictures of the cabin, or the adults for that matter. But I did get a nice group shot of the kids.
Ben and Shanea (sp?) spending some canoodling time in the hammock. It is cute right now...

Soon after Ben and I headed up to the Rim to Boy Scout Camp and spent a weekend doing Boy Scout stuff. He is in a great Webalos group and we had a lot of fun even though it rained buckets for much of the time.

Here are the boys lined up and ready for inspection:

Ben and Joseph listening to a lecture.

There were tons of little activity booths set up, and at this one the boys got to shoot bad guys with nerf guns. Ben shows good form.
They even let the kids throw knives. Pretty cool.

Our next big adventure was spring break. We decided to join the rest of Phoenix and head to San Diego. We stayed at the Marriott at the Marina.
We had a lot of fun hanging out by the harbor. We also went to the Wild Animal Park
Here are the boys looking at some bird or something.Ben was fascinated by the California Condor
And Andrew made a friend with a deer in the petting area. We were there when the gates opened and they were pushing us out at the end of the day. Lots of fun.

The next two days were spent at Legoland. I think Ben and Andrew would have liked to have moved in. They are both the right age and temperament for this particular park. And on the first day it was not at all crowded.

Here are both of them driving lego cars:

Then around the corner we found a Lego version of Mommy's new car. Pretty cool!

Ben and Andrew take on Darth Vader.
And Ben was able to take a robot programming class at one of the learning centers.

They even found time to build stuff with Lego's!

One of Andrew's favorite rides was the Jousting ride. He went around talking and attacking bad guys.
At the end of the second day, we decided to get a sketch done of the boys. They were pretty cute while posing.

Before we knew it we were at the end of October. Andrew was a Ninja and Ben was Naruto. I didn't get many good pictures of their costumes. Here is Andrew with his class though.

Ben also went to a Scout-o-Rama event. Here he is again with his buddy Joseph:

Next came various celebrations of Andrew's birthday. First was with Grammy. We made cupcakes and had a nice meal together:

His birthday actually fell on Thanksgiving day this year. So we had a combined event. Here Ben makes a Carrot Soufle:
Mommy did her usual fantastic job decorating the table and everything:

And here is dinner. From left clockwise around the table: Mommy, Lou, Andrew, Ben, Uncle Kurt, Daddy, Grandpa Ed (taking the picture), DelSteen, and Sarah.

Andrew's party was at Pump-it-Up. Here are his friends that made it to the party after going crazy for 1.5 hours.

Andrew had a great time.
And last, but not least, we have a video of Andrew's Happy Birthday song:
